Description
Introducing the revised Long Exposure Kit #2, Joel Tjintjelaar Signature Edition. This Long Exposure Kit includes 10, 13 and 16 stop ND filters. The Long Exposure Kit #2 is for users who wish to forgo the versatility of stacking 3, 6 & 10 stop filters and commit to a single filter solution for their long exposure photography. Kit #2 features 10, 13 & 16 stops of Firecrest ND. 10 stops is a good general purpose long exposure filter for landscape. 13 stops is ideal for 2-3 minute exposures on seascapes, where the meeting of land and sea causes clouds to move more quickly across the frame than usual. 16 stops is the standard bearer of long exposure technique ... a single filter capable of 5-8 minute exposures.

Joel Tjintjelaar is the world’s leading architectural fine art photographer. Joel typically makes 5-8 minute exposures using up to 16 stops of ND to create surrealism in clouds and water. The Long Exposure Kit comes with 10, 13 and 16 stops of ND. This kit is for long exposure photographers who wish to use a single filter for their long exposures. This kit also includes a booklet authored by Joel Tjintjelaar, a long exposure conversion chart and filter pouches.
The Long Exposure Kit #1 is also available with 3, 6, and 10 stops of ND for those who want more versatility and are willing to stack filters for long exposures.
Firecrest ND Filters
Firecrest is a multicoating applied to glass and is far-and-away the most technologically advanced filter manufacturing process on the market. Firecrest filters remove dyed resin from the manufacturing process. The Firecrest multicoating is a rare earth metallic coating applied to the glass through an electrolytic process. Most importantly, Firecrest technology gives our chief scientist unprecedented control over modifying specific frequencies of the light spectrum. The result is hyper-neutral NDs, with tailored reductions of ultraviolet, visible spectrum light, near-infrared and infrared.

A bigger polariser giving you a wider view
With recent developments in optical design, it has become more common for lenses to have larger threads. To accommodate these advancements we have expanded our CPL (circular polarising filter) to 86mm. This means wider compatibility and better performance on a range of new wide-angle lenses. It also makes it compatible with a range of cinema lenses such as the Tokina 11-20MM T2.9.
The polariser can be fitted into either included rotating ring adapter, and becomes an integral part of the holder. The polariser is operated with an easy to use thumbscrew. This allows you to set your grads and then dial in the exact
polarising effect you want. Due to its free movement, this means you can leave the polarising filter (CPL) attached at all times and simply turn off the effect if not wanted. The construction of the filter also means you can use the CPL filter as an independent filter without the need of the holder.
More step rings, more flexibility.
For improved performance on an even wider range of lenses, the holder now ships with two rotating adapters as standard. These adapters allow the lens to sit closer to the filters helping with wide-angle photography. The kit
includes an 86mm - 86mm rotating adapter and a 86mm - 82mm adapter. For best performance on 77mm and smaller wide-angle lenses, it is recommended to use the included step rings from the 86-86mm rotating adapter.
